The Timeless Photography of Gian Paolo Barbieri

The works of Barbieri will be hosted at the new headquarters of Zurich Italia and Zurich Bank at Via Santa Margherita 11, in Milan, right in the heart of the city and adjacent to the famous Teatro alla Scala. This collaboration with the 29 Arts in Progress gallery arises from a shared vision that defines both Barbieri’s art and Zurich’s mission: the pursuit of excellence and the commitment to protecting what is precious.

With his unmistakable style, Barbieri invites us to observe the world through his lens. His photographs not only celebrate the intrinsic beauty of their subjects but also tell stories of life, resilience, and hope.

Alongside many of Barbieri’s well-known masterpieces, several of his previously unseen photographs will also be on display, spanning from the 1960s to the 2000s. These works result from an in-depth research project within the artist’s archive.

Gian Paolo Barbieri has managed to give a unique face to Italian fashion, one that had never been imagined before, becoming a collaborator and companion to the designers whose work, through the rise of Made in Italy, would transform them into the protagonists of a new era in fashion and style.
